Burroughs Wellcome Fund Invests $2.5 million in Regulatory Science Research
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC – The Burroughs Wellcome Fund is pleased to announce the awardees of the latest round of the Innovation in Regulatory Science Award.
BWF’s Innovation in Regulatory Science Awards provide up to $500,000 over five years to academic investigators developing new methodologies or innovative approaches in regulatory science that will ultimately inform the regulatory decisions by Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and others.
“Our regulatory science funding initiative focuses on developing implementable tools and methodology that can be used by the greater scientific community while informing FDA decision making.,” said BWF President Dr. John Burris. “Such efforts may address issues from analysis of data to development of appropriate laboratory technologies.”

Michael Rosenblum, Ph.D. | Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health
Statistical methods and automated software tool for stress-testing adaptive clinical trial designs
Leslie Wilson, Ph.D. | University of California-San Francisco
Advancing new methodologies to measure patient preference for regulatory approval of devices
