PROJECT TITLE: STEM ADVENTURES
Wayne County Public Schools is seeking funding to expand opportunities afforded to traditionally educationally underrepresented third through sixth grade students. This grant contains three large-scale projects related to STEM (1) STEM Summer Camp, (2) a Traveling STEM Showcase, and (3) monthly school STEM nights. These three projects will allow 240 Wayne County Public Schools’ students to immerse themselves in activities at a week-long camp each summer as well as provide opportunities for additional learning throughout the school year during the monthly STEM nights at the elementary schools in the district. By participating in these STEM opportunities, students' understanding of and enthusiasm for science and math will increase as well as their interest in pursuing careers in science and STEM related fields.
